Origin

The fossil is a preserved remnant of the past.  Most fossils are organic matter which are transformed to stone.   In many cases a mineral simply infiltrates  the empty cellular spaces of wood or bone, allowing a great deal of the original organic matter to retain its original cellular structure.

The range of fossils include bone, shell, insects, animals, fish and impressions left by plant, animals and even natural resources.

History / Mythology

In ancient times fossils were believed to be descendant seeds of past realms, cast from the stars to grow in the Earth as memories of what once was.  It was believed this gift from the stars could enhance telepathic communication between this present reality and the prior worlds, as well as the currents of other worlds.
